Sheltering Arms Senior Services Report Card
Sheltering Arms Senior Services serves nearly 54,000 senior and their family caregivers annually.
During the 2007-2008 fiscal year:
- 5,650 seniors and their family caregivers received 7,613 hours of consultation, education, and referral services.
- 196 seniors with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of memory loss received 86,420 hours of specialized care at the Sheltering Arms Day Center, and 220 family caregivers received 97,874 hours of respite.
- 610 seniors received 6,842 hours of assistance from case management professionals who helped them by arranging appropriate community services.
- 848 seniors received 188,101 hours of personal care and home management services, including help with bathing,dressing, eating, and other personal care tasks.
- 7,505 individuals received education about issues facing the elderly in our community and services available to assist them.
- 15,603 individuals in 7,834 households were assisted with payment of their gas and electricity bills.
- 518 homes received energy efficiency measures such as caulking and weather stripping, and 7,834 individuals received energy education to help them reduce their bills.
- 1,737 seniors received a combined total of 467,598 days of health and safety monitoring with Philips Lifeline Medical Alert.
- 443 older adults living alone rreceived safety-check telephone calls from 353 volunteers.
