We Specialize in Dementia

Alzheimer’s disease affects an estimated one in every three families. In Houston alone, approximately 40,000 members of our community are affected by Alzheimer’s. While treatment possibilities are limited and the toll on families is tremendous, the Sheltering Arms Day Center offers help and support.

The center is designed specifically for adults who have Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia. The center improves the quality of life of participants and helps caregivers maintain their loved ones at home.

Our Care Starts with Our Staff

Staff are trained in the latest practices of care for those with Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia and give personal attention to each participant.

These caring professionals understand the special needs of people with dementia and respond to these needs with compassion and tenderness. In a recent survey of caregivers of Sheltering Arms Day Center participants, 100% of respondents felt that the staff were knowledgeable, pleasant, and demonstrated respect and compassion for participants.

The Sheltering Arms Day Center has a high ratio of staff to clients and a licensed nurse is available throughout the day to supervise and administer medication.

Our credentials are just as impressive

as our commitment.

  • Case workers are licensed and degreed social workers or nurses
  • Staff qualifications exceed industry norm
  • Extensive geriatric care expertise
