ABOUT DR. CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER Winner of the Pulitzer Prize and named by The Financial Times as the most influential commentator in America, Charles Krauthammer has been honored by every part of the political spectrum from the famously liberal, People for the American Way, to the staunchly conservative, Bradley Foundation. His broad-based appeal was honed having worked in the Carter administration, then as a speechwriter for Vice President Walter Mondale before developing The Reagan Doctrine, just five years later. Born in New York City and raised in Montreal, Canada, his life journey has included stops at Harvard and Oxford universities. Initially, a medical doctor by profession, he later found his true calling as a journalist and columnist, producing influential writings that have helped frame the very shape of American foreign policy. Since 1985, Krauthammer has written a syndicated column for The Washington Post that earned him the 1987 Pulitzer Prize for distinguished commentary. He is published weekly in more than 240 newspapers worldwide, including The Houston Chronicle.
